When Half the Job Stops Being Enough

Most vehicles get one half attended to and the other half ignored. The outside gets washed because it is visible from the street; the inside gets a wipe when something spills. After two or three years of that, the halves have drifted so far apart that fixing one makes the other look worse. A freshly washed car with a tired cabin is a strange thing to sit in.

Two situations bring people to the whole job at once. The first is time: enough of it has passed that piecemeal effort no longer moves the needle. The second is a deadline, usually a sale, where the vehicle has to photograph well and survive a buyer opening every door.

Washing the outside now makes the interior look worse by comparison
You are listing the vehicle and the photographs have to carry it
A trade-in appraisal is booked and presentation will factor into the number
The car has been through a season of pollen, then a summer, then school runs
You have stopped noticing the smell but passengers have not
It has been long enough that you cannot remember the last proper clean

What a Full Car Detail in Raleigh Covers

A full detail is the interior service and the exterior service performed on the same vehicle in the same visit, in an order that makes each one better. Doing both at once is not only a scheduling convenience. Exterior work throws water and contamination around; interior work throws dust out of vents and seams. Sequencing them properly means neither undoes the other, which is the thing that goes wrong when the two are booked weeks apart from different companies.

The exterior half

Wheels and wheel wells first so their grit never reaches clean paint, then a hand wash working top down. Every painted panel is decontaminated until it is smooth to the touch, because bonded brake dust, rail dust and sap do not come off with soap. Trim and exterior glass are cleaned and treated, the vehicle is dried without dragging grit across it, and protection goes onto the paint. The full account of that work lives on our exterior detailing page.

The interior half

Mats out, then a complete vacuum that reaches under the seats, along the rails and into the seam gaps where the grit actually sits, with compressed air used to bring debris out of vents, switch surrounds and seat tracks. Hard surfaces and crevices are cleaned in detail rather than wiped across. Carpet and upholstery are cleaned through, leather and vinyl are cleaned and conditioned, and interior glass is finished last. The full account is on our interior detailing page.

What a full detail does not include

Paint correction is a separate service and is not part of this. If your paint has swirl marks or etching, a full detail will leave it clean, smooth and protected, and those defects will still be visible in direct light, because removing them means polishing the clear coat rather than washing it. Ceramic coating is likewise separate, and it is applied after correction rather than after a wash.

Where a full detail is being booked ahead of a sale, tell us that when you send photographs. It changes what is worth spending time on. Buyers open doors, look at footwells and check the trunk, and they form an impression in the first ten seconds of a walk-around, so the effort goes where that impression is made rather than being spread evenly. We work mobile across Raleigh and bring our own water and power, so nothing needs arranging at your address and you do not need to be home. Photographs come through as we work, and payment is collected once you have seen the vehicle inside and out.

What Raleigh Drivers Say About Our Full Detailing

Live reviews straight from our Google Business Profile.

Why us

Why Raleigh Books the Whole Vehicle With Us

One visit, one company, one standard

Both halves done in sequence by the same people on the same day, rather than a wash from one place and an interior from another three weeks later.

We tell you what is not included

Swirl marks need polishing, not washing. You will know that before you book rather than discovering it when the car is back in the sun.

We are insured. Most here are not.

A full detail means hours on your paint and hours inside your cabin with your belongings in it. Ask anyone else you are considering whether they carry business insurance.

Selling it? Say so.

Buyers decide in the first ten seconds of a walk-around. Tell us the vehicle is being listed and the hours go where that impression is actually formed.

Your address, our water and power, payment after

No hookups to arrange, no drop-off, no day lost waiting. Photos come through as we work and you pay once you have seen the vehicle.

Step by step

How a Full Detail Appointment Runs

1

Photos inside and out

Send pictures of the cabin and the exterior, and tell us if the vehicle is being sold. Both change the quote and where the time goes.

2

We arrive with everything

The truck carries its own water and power, so there is nothing to arrange. Leave the vehicle accessible and tell us where the keys will be.

3

Exterior first

Wheels and wells, hand wash top down, decontamination of every panel, trim, glass and protection. Doing this half first keeps its water and grit away from a finished cabin.

4

Interior second

Mats out, full vacuum through rails and seams, compressed air through vents, crevice work, carpet and upholstery, leather cleaned and conditioned, glass last.

5

Both halves checked, then payment

We go around the outside and through the cabin in daylight, send photographs, and collect payment once you have seen it yourself.

How Much Does a Full Car Detail Cost in Raleigh, NC?

A full detail is quoted per vehicle, and it is the most variable service we offer, because it is two jobs and either half can be the one that takes the time.

Size sets the floor. Beyond that, the exterior side is driven by how long it has been since the paint was decontaminated, and the interior side by what the cabin has been carrying. A large SUV with a clean interior and neglected paint prices differently from the same vehicle with good paint and three years of school runs inside it. That is why photographs of both halves matter more here than on any other booking.

What a quote covers: the full exterior service and the full interior service in one visit. What it does not cover: paint correction and ceramic coating, which are separate services rather than upgrades to this one.

Send photographs inside and out, mention if the vehicle is being sold, and we will quote the actual job.

Longer than either half on its own, since it is both jobs in sequence, and the exact time depends on vehicle size and the condition of each half. None of that time has to be yours. Leave the vehicle accessible, tell us where the keys will be, and carry on with your day.

It is quoted per vehicle and it is our most variable service, because either half can be the one that takes the hours. Vehicle size sets the floor; after that it is how long since the paint was decontaminated and what the cabin has been carrying. Send photographs of both halves and we will quote the actual vehicle rather than an average.

It is one of the two most common reasons people book one. Buyers form an impression in the first ten seconds of a walk-around, and they open doors, look at footwells and check the trunk. Tell us the vehicle is being listed when you send photographs, because it changes where the hours are best spent. We will not tell you what it adds to your sale price, since that depends on your buyer and your market, but presentation is part of what they are judging.

No. This catches people out and it is worth saying plainly. Swirls, wash marring and etching sit inside the clear coat, and removing them means polishing that layer rather than washing it, which is paint correction and a separate service. A full detail leaves paint clean, smooth and protected, and any existing swirls will still show in direct light. If that is what is bothering you, correction is what you want, with or without the detail alongside it.

What is certain either way is that doing both in one visit sequences the work properly. Exterior work moves water and contamination around and interior work pushes dust out of vents and seams, so doing them in the right order on the same day means neither undoes the other.

Once or twice a year suits most daily-driven vehicles in the Triangle, with washing correctly in between. Vehicles carrying children, pets or a long commute sit at the shorter end. A vehicle detailed on a regular interval takes less time on each visit than one that has gone several years, which is worth knowing when comparing the first quote to later ones.

Nobody has to be there. What we need is the vehicle, a way in, and room to work around it, and everything else comes with us. Clearing anything valuable or breakable out beforehand makes the job faster.
